I have just received the news that I was not awarded an important grant to produce my documentary. In learning this, I have decided to no longer continue working in video production. For me, the decision was a make or break crossroads.
I will continue to write and provide voice overs however, effective immediately, TV and film production will cease to be a service that I will offer or pursue. I personally have invested over a decade of my life and tens of thousands of dollars to share stories to make the world a better place. I have been beaten, insulted, cheated, threatened, and banned, in my attempts to share the good in people that are left in this world. It has been hard and uphill all the way.
Thus, as of today, I can no longer afford to invest my time and money in this line of work that has been my life for so many years.
Busy busy busy! Me. Documentary Grant! Who would have thought I’d look for funding?
My latest instalment of life is in need of your help. Nothing major, I just need you to vote for my new documentary. The voting site will be available on Monday July 30th. Starting at noon, you can visit the site to cast your vote and if I get a good turnout, Telus (Storyhive) will award my project with a $50,000 grant!
Fifty thousand dollars sounds like a lot but to produce a real documentary with a real crew and real promotion, it’s pretty much just a great start. Telus will also assist my production with mentoring and other support.
I will share more of the documentary’s content soon. All the details are on the voting web site. Which will be available Monday, July 30, 2018 at 12 noon PDT. I will share that URL when it is time. I really do not want to have a lot of false starts as you will just find nothing at the link.
I have produced over 80 episodes of TV content, and have worked on countless numbers of documentary, training, and film scripts in the past 15 years. I can do this. You’ll be proud of this one. But the only way I can receive the documentary grant is via the voting process outlined by Telusfund. No other way. Please… take a few minutes out next week to help me out. It not only helps me, it helps the many other new motion picture people out there. This project will help over 20 other people get their names in the credits via this documentary grant! Contact me if you need more info or want the ‘hidden’ link in advance to put in your reminders list.
Wow. Just wow. My heroes for my style of interview were David Frost and Peter Gzowski. When I was busy doing my show and working in media in Istanbul, Anthony was becoming a foodie’s icon. I didn’t see his show until I was pretty much done TV there. I immediately liked his style, and to be honest, was just a bit envious.
Reading the news this morning… he’s gone. Just yesterday I had a conversation on the brevity of life.
It is the Halloween season and where there is a jack o’lantern, there is likely a vampire lurking somewhere. So in the spirit of this haunting night, what guest would not be better for me to find in a darkened building? No other than Dracula himself. In Courtenay of all places. I will be sharing his story and the story of some other characters found in Bram Stoker’s Dracula Ballet. Ballet? Yes, ballet! So, if you did not think ballet was for you… Maybe, just maybe, you’re going to find something else you did not know about yourself. Be prepared to be impressed!
Here is the teaser for the upcoming show featuring Ballet Victoria’s Dracula! Find the schedule on the calendar page – Martin
