Well… 2018 is well underway, no turning back. But how do we make it through the busy day? Take out of course! In the Comox Valley, there are some daily rituals and they have to be followed in order, or do they? The show is on air this week on ShawTV Channel 4 in the North Vancouver Island region. It can also be found right here!
I made sure that I was in ‘character’ by having a just woke up look with my hair. Seriously, we make every effort to get the realism happening here at ‘the crossroads’! So take out something for yourself! 😉
This is the first commercial offering of my artwork to the public. I’m quite excited as I always love to create things. Writing, videos, music, and art. I have been rather distant from the artwork side of things but taking time off from social media this week has inspired me. I hope it inspires you too! I think I captured some of the human body with simple, yet distinguishable, two line drawings. It was a challenge however, I hope they are fun and interesting.
Remember, these may become a collector’s item someday! Who knows? So plan your art portfolio wisely here and now!

Well it seems that since the show started, I have a lot of positive feedback in the sense of online visits to my site. A new design and of course, a new show give me all the promise of an even better 2018 for my program and the creative content I produce for many companies and projects around the world.
Here is a sneak peek at the stats since the show went on air. Given a zero advertising budget and just some simple web SEO have brought around 200 daily visitors to the site and around 400 page visits per day. You can see when the program went “live” and the views increased dramatically. Although my focus is on paying clients for my web design, for my own projects, it’s nice to see some activity here.
Well the end is near and 2017 has been quite a year. I was able to co-produce seven shows this year. Of course, with the best co-producers I have ever worked with. Not to mention the amazing guests supporters and sponsors.
The last week of the year on ShawTV is reserved for the yule log, special shows and events, so I get a week off! Well off air that is. The show usually airs throughout the two week rotation and then on YouTube from there, well, forever.
Although the show is off air, I’m still busy planning for 2018. I will however take this week to stay off social media and let the automated posts do their work. I may not interact with all you wonderful people during this week, however, I can always be reached via direct and private means. So we’re going to have to talk directly. Use the contacts page, messenger, iMessage, FaceTime, my phone number, my text number, and of course, by commenting on this post.
Lots of love, lots of peace, and many happy moments are what I wish for you all!
Well, this episode was fun. Media Relations Officer, Constable Rob Gardner was my guest for this show. What did I miss all these years? Find the show on ShawTV North Island & Powell River.
The show is now on YouTube! Have a watch from right here if you want!
Note: During the show Rob and I talked about an old training video. The link for it is here. I wanted to put some of it on the show however CBC wanted a lot of cash to allow me to use even a few seconds of the clip.
Here are a few more links to videos that were supplied by the RCMP/GRC:

Remember, this show is all volunteer. I hope you can help us out in making it stay on-air!
I once did a TV show in Istanbul with a small salary and a zero-production budget. Now, I have a TV show and although ShawTV is co-producing it with me, as you can see, I’m a volunteer/access producer. Which means, I now have no financial gain from doing this. I hope to find sponsors, that may or may not happen. So, it is always nice to know that you support and my hope is that in sharing the people that have a story to tell will make a difference.
With this said, I hope that you can consider making a small donation to the show. I hope that someday soon I can move the show, or create another one with a commercial broadcaster. I have a lot of stories to share and I hope that I can keep doing this. If you cannot help out financially, then all I need is for you to share and comment on the posts I make on my website.
Episode number 6 is on air! The topic is aquaculture.
If you live on North Vancouver Island or in Powell River, check the ShawTV schedule for the show. It airs the next two weeks on. Channel 4. Don’t have ShawTV? No problem you can always watch it on YouTube!
To make it easier for you, you can find the video right here… Enjoy!
Once you’ve watched it, don’t forget to make a comment and share this page!
Any contribution helps the show. It’s non-commercial and volunteer.
Well, there we go the YouTube playlist is now available for Martin @ the Crossroads.
It is wonderful to report that five of my shows have already aired on ShawTV! The beauty of this is that there are so many ways to watch the show. You can watch it on Shaw’s Channel 4 on the north island and in Powell River throughout on a biweekly rotation of nearly 20 time slots, or you can PVR it. Additionally, once the show has been aired, it is available on YouTube! Yes, you can watch at your leisure whenever and wherever you like.
How do you find the YouTube playlist? Well, my page is the place to get the details. So, for those of you that have not found a way to watch, all you have to do is click here for the playlist! From art to aviation. How about hockey? You cannot not find something to watch so far. And! There is much more to come!
Remember! The more you watch the better my chances are of finding sponsors!
Bunny is my little dog. She is seen here on the green screen cyclorama. Camera testing with animals is a fun yet trying experience. After getting Bunny to be comfortable on the cloth, we found out that she is so white on her chest that she was actually reflecting the green! This makes it almost impossible to do a proper composite background later in post production.
You see, the green will bleed the background video or image onto her body. Not the desired effect. So, turns out we will likely have to go with a blue screen to do any shots with her. Good thing our new screen will be blue!
We hope to share our video with Bunny in another acting video. Real soon I hope!
