S01 E01 Martin at the Crossroads – YouTube

Here it is, the YouTube version of S01 E01 of Martin at the Crossroads!

The show is somewhat basic in production. In any case, the content is most important. Chelsea was a wonderful guest. Her story warmed my heart from the first time I heard it. I hope to spend more time at the tribal centre in future. The ‘Big House’ is a special place for me now. I’m happy that it is just minutes away from where I live.

For the production stsrting in September I hope to have a new intro and some graphics included in  the show.

Enjoy!

Whew! It aired!

I held my breath a couple times but I did survive watching my new show. Chelsea was such a wonderful guest. What an amazing story she shared and I actually learned a lot about indigenous culture.

Chelsea’s story led us from her life in a small village, her people’s connection with the land, and her amazing trip to Uganda where she discovered positive self awareness along with an awarness of culture in a far away land…

For those of you who don’t have ShawTV, the show will be posted on YouTube later today.

Martin, at the Crossroads

It feels like an eternity, however, tomorrow the new show hits your TV screens!

ShawTV Channel 4 has their new schedule out and you can find it at this link.

Please check my event calendar as well for dates and times.

Support and Sponsorship

Hi!

Just taking a quick break from my filming schedule to send out this post.

As you know, the world is changing as to how we obtain information and as is the quality of that information. Of course, we also know that publicity is just important as having the funds to produce a TV program or podcast. So I decided to to write this post…

I would like to mention the support needed to ensure the new shows can be both high in production quality and with interesting guests. I already have to drive to another city to tape the shows. I also spend countless hours arranging and planning. Since I am the producer, I’m responsible. So you can see there is a need for this post asking for support and sponsorship.

ShawTV is doing a great job to accommodate me in producing this show. The team there is amazing, fun, and highly professional. Martin @ the Crossroads  will air weekly in the fall and this means that I have the next few weeks to get everything in place.  Since I don’t  have Daddy Warbucks as a dad, I need to ask you for your support. There are three ways you can help.

Private Donations

I have set up a donation link for those of you who wish to support the “Martin @ the Crossroads” TV program as well as the upcoming Podcast series “Just a Chair“.  If you can make a donation, I will ensure that your name will be mentioned here on the website, and in the “Thanks to:” credits at the end of the shows. If you would like to volunteer, and learn what it takes to produce a weekly TV show or podcast, please contact me directly.

Corporate Sponsorship

I have decided to add four sponsors to the show. These sponsors will have a mention on this website, on the show, and in the credits. The full sponsor agreement is available by sending a message via the contact me page. A corporate sponsor can also welcome to make a donation to the show by using the donation link below. We will place your company name in the “Thanks to:” credits.

Support

We of course would appreciate support in any form. If you have a venue we can film from, can supply gifts, discounts, food, for the volunteers that make the show happen all is welcome. As well, I am always looking for guests! If you know of someone local or coming to town that I should consider please think of me. Please use the contact me page to let me know.

VIMF

I write this Saturday morning and it is now day two of the VIMF which is, of couse, the acronym for the Vancouver Island MusicFest. Yesterday (Friday) was a wonderful experience as I wandered around looking at the food, the people, and the vendors. Of course the music was wonderful too! The venue is amazing! The mainstage area is massive and then there are stages all over the place. The Comox Valley Exhibition Grounds are expansive and both open fields and forests. Some of the stages are nestled into the forest and I look forward to checking them out today! Of couree I will have more to report to you here.

Today, we tape some segments for my show. They will all be aired at a later date on ShawTV!

Later!

Vancouver Island Music Festival

VIMF Main Stage

Looks like I will be going to the Vancouver Island Music Festival this weekend. Since I’m back in the talk show host saddle, I have the means to go and do some interviews as a member of the media.

I am always looking for a personal story, so don’t expect a lot of celebrity news, expect more from the people that make it happen and the people who volunteer throughout the weekend to make this one of BC’s premier music events. This year the line up of talent is magnificent. From country to world music, there is something for everyone. Camping is sold out, so you might have to ask me nicely to set up your tent in my back yard. I have room, but I get first priority for the coffee in the morning and of course, first rights to the shower!

Have a look at the festival here. I will be on my own at times and also with the wonderful folks at ShawTV –  North Island.

Watch for me. I’ll be the one with the microphone in my hand!

Well. Now I’m getting excited. My new little TV show will air next week. I just received the schedule from ShawTV and it looks like I’ll (we’ll?)  have to get up early or stay up late to watch the very first one.

The show will air multiple times through the week so don’t worry if you miss watching every one! I’m joking of course, I expect you to record it for me, at least, and I will quiz everyone I know about the guest. The show will also be available shortly after the first air date. I will let you know when it is online.

The show airs on ShawTV – North Island Channel. This is Shaw’s community access channel and just so you know, they do air some shows in other markets if they have a good following. If you are a Shaw cable subscriber, I hope you can ask for the show in your local market that would be amazing! If you are not sure if the show is airing in your neighbourhood, please click here and select your location. You can always send an email or call using  the contact information there.

If the show gains popularity, it could go national! So if you can watch on ShawTV or view the show on YouTube and like it.

A look back

It is hard to believe that my previous TV show was so long ago and in a far away land. Voice overs and writing for new shows, documentaries, corporate videos and aviation training media kept me pretty busy since then. I knew I’d be back.

If you are not familiar with my first talk show, check out the imdb listing for both seasons. When I look back, it’s pretty inpressive what I did pretty much single handedly.

Let’s see how long the new show will run! The premiere airs very soon!
